help please

just fitted a 6 dail dash to my mk1 escort,,,, any clues on wiring up the rev counter ? i thought i just had to run a wire to the earth on the coil but no joy,, im running pinto with normal dizzy with electronic internals

you have a wire on the back off the rev counter that should plug into your loom.on mine on the original loom there is a black wire that pulls apart one male one female bullet type connection.plug your rev counter wires into there.then the original coil live wire should be used to power the electronic coil,this should be black with yellow tracer,and the rev counter should work ok.you dont have to get anything converted ie clocks to take the electronic ignition hope this helps
