Retro-gone. Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 when i change from 1600 to 2.0 will i have to fit a throttle cable to suit the twin weber? im currently running the single choke ford carb, on the twin weber i noticed the cable entry near the carb is different, i think the 2.0 cable has a square plastic stop thingy, can i use my stock 1600 cable and modify it somehow? ive never changed a throttle cable on a car .. if i have to change it is it a pain?
4 door escort Posted September 16, 2008 Report Posted September 16, 2008 what linkage will you be using, from memory i think the standard ford linkage is different to the twin carb set up on mine i had the funny plastic thingy by the carb and then on the pedal box there was another clip thingy, when i changed to twin carbs i got a different linkage kit which came with all the cables and bits needed just a thought, you did mean twin carbs and not twin choke carb? if so then you can modify the standard linkage and cable to work just fine
Retro-gone. Posted September 16, 2008 Author Report Posted September 16, 2008 im changing from single ford 1600 pinto carb to 32/36 twin choke weber, i havent inspected the difference that closely but at 1st glance the carb end of my current cable wont fit the weber linkage, theres a square hole in the bracket that fastens to the manifold which i presume the square plastic thingy should sit in,
