capriaddict Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 For a new tag give these guys a ring http://www.vintags.com/ not cheap but look exactly like the originals.
Mick The Cabbie Posted November 25, 2008 Report Posted November 25, 2008 I've used these before. They'll do ya the correct style plate with the stampings in the correct style font. They'll even do the AVO plate for a Mk1. http://www.vintags.com/ Regarding which shell your tag/chassis/reg number belongs to:- Technically the number should stay with the shell. However, it's a bit of a grey area. I wouldn't worry too much. A good percentage of Escorts out there have had their shells and id's swapped about. Particularly rotten/crashed RS's which have been re-shelled with a standard 1100 shell but still carry the RS id. Not to mention the number of late Mk1's with early tax exempt id's!! Hope that helps
