bob 24v cossie

hi, just about to start 24v bob into mk3 cortina which is currently running 12v 2.9. got 97 donor. all this probably been asked b4, but anything i need to watch out for b4 i start in a few weeks? any advice more than welcome

dun this is a capri mk3, if youve got the money mate get yerself the manuel cossie box from the ex police cars, caprisport do them with pollybuses and shortshifter kits brand new felt amazing through the gears insted of the type 9 or some simmiler bobbys manuel gearboxes!! also twin electic fan a bigger rad with a thermostat plumped in, ALOT BETTER COOLING!!, and straight through the exhaust its sounds awsome and you get flames prob not much help but its the best i can offer lol

oh yeah, if you get running issues make sure theres no crap on the timing sensor from the chains and make sure theres no water in the fuel mmm wonder who managed that????

I think the big probs will be the wiring as the ultima had PATS you could fit all the wiring over to the mk3 or alot of people run the BOA ecu or after market ecu, if your staying auto you will need to use tha 24v's box & torque converter as its not the same inside as the 2.9 12v one you have now. Be VERY gentle with the engine/gearbox loom when you take the engine out as you will find that it will be falling apart !! mostly where it runs under the inlet plenum

thanks chaps, will be fitting complete engine & auto box. think i can cope with normal wiring problems, its just the pats stuff i gotta get me head round! also, whats the score with cats and sensors?????? do i need to keep them or bin em? no problem to keep em if i ave to. cheers
