good news first of all picket up my mk1 escort today and trailered it home , niced it has no plug leads tho, so got new plugs leads etc.. but does any one have any idea what way to connect these up/ the firing pattern of a 103 crossflow?? cheers

find TDC on cylinder 1 and get your rotor arm pointing at one of the plug leads on the dizzy cap

 

that goes to number 1

 

then find which way the arm rotates

 

next one it reaches put a lead on that to number 2

 

then 4

 

then 3

 

 

 

i did it something like that and it still wouldnt work, rotated the dizzy though 180 degress and it fired first time, also check your points gap :wink:

the one being closest to the radiator/grill

 

you find TDC (top dead center) by pulling the plug on cylinder 1, carefully insert a long screwdriver (that wont fall in the chamber) and carefully turn the engine over (dont crank it!!!) untill it reaches its highest point

 

 

once running though you'll need to adjust your timing to get it spot on, unless you reccon its allready timed up then dont loosen the dizzy
