antz Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Just finished building this guitar to pass the time. It was a long term christmas project which infact took me only one evening to complete All in all it cost me £118.58 to build. (nearly half the cost of a Tom Delonge Squier Strat which was my inspiration!) I have to thank Evil Knievel for his advice and helpw ith this cos without him I would of been stuck with a guitar in bits. One nice and new strat fresh from the box (already cut the strings off) Everything off that I didnt want or need: Old rubbish tuners thrown away and new Wilkinsons installed: My first attempt at soldering since I was thrown out of design tech class at school in 2003! (I couldnt actually solder so I taught myself as I went along last night!) I dont like tremolos so I blocked it off with a nice piece of oak: Had to get the local guitar shop to set it up for me as I cant do that yet. Its on my list of things to learn! DONE: Model Name: Squier Bullet Strat with Tremolo Body: Basswood (42mm) Neck: Maple Fingerboard: Rosewood No. of Frets: 21 Medium Jumbo Pickups: Seymour Duncan TB-6 Distortion Trembucker Controls: 500K Master Volume Bridge: Standadr Tremolo bridge with oak block to make it a hardtail Machine Heads: Wilkinson Kluson Tuners Hardware: Chrome Pickguard 3-ply White Pearloid

antz Posted December 18, 2009 Author Report Posted December 18, 2009 Gorgeous!!!! Im not sure i like the strat im used to my Epi SG so it feels all weird and it completely different to it. Suppose itll take some getting used to!
filicapri Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 Gibson and Fender are a big difference,I think that the fender plays easier than the gibson. But not as easy as a bc.rich or a dean Never played on a Jackson or a PRS,but think they are the greatest
antz Posted December 18, 2009 Author Report Posted December 18, 2009 ive alwaysed wanted the sg. love it. love the feel, the weight, the way it plays. the strats just soemthing for fun and for £118.58 i cant complain. its a backup beater guitar
filicapri Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 I dont love the weight of my les paul, way to much Think 'retrocapri' Tony also has a Gibson

zetecmk2 Posted December 18, 2009 Report Posted December 18, 2009 i've also got an early neck thru charvel from before jackson bought them, to be honest, it's a much better guitar!
Copey Posted December 19, 2009 Report Posted December 19, 2009 its very...pink...lol nice work though hows it sound?
antz Posted December 19, 2009 Author Report Posted December 19, 2009 sounds really good! It has a definate distorted punk rock feel.completely different to my SG. might give it a go through my amp and miss out the Boss GT-10 pedal though and then compare its sound
