Equinox Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 Hi, Im trying to sort the cooling system on the Capri. I have a nice Kenlowe fan to fit to it but mounting the fan will be a pain as its really heavy and will need to be secure. I remember a while back there were some alloy rads with mounts and cooling fans, can anyone remember who it was or where I can get one. I can cope with selling the Kenlowe one if I can make my life easier in getting the whole rad with fan & mounts welded onto it. Its for a 2.8 Capri.. Cheers
Posse Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 I cable tied mine to the rad at each cornor worked a treat
Equinox Posted December 29, 2009 Author Report Posted December 29, 2009 Hmmm just got a vision of this big kenlowe fan bouncing down the road if I do that, its the heavy duty twin speed fan I have & if anything it may be too heavy duty but at least it wont over heat if I do use that one !
Posse Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 put more on I no it sounds a bit cats arse but it works .
tootman318 Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 alloy rads on the bay. got bigger 1 for my mk3 tina bob cossie £89. works very well, just be carefull, very fragile compared to older rads. dent easy!!!
rallyesport04 Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 you can buy the special ties that go through the fins of the rad to hold the fan on from burtons i havent fitted mine this way but have known them to be used
Mexico Posted December 29, 2009 Report Posted December 29, 2009 many of the rally suppliers are using spal fans these days. bought mine from WWRS a few weeks back for a Mk1 escort, alloy rad + spal fan for £310 ... perfect too
