Spiritof'76 Posted April 7, 2010 Report Posted April 7, 2010 Hello to you all Thought i would drop in here in the hope i might be able to find owners of RS Fords who i might be able to entice to join us for a display stand at an event as detailed below. All Ford RS cars are welcome to display and i will be there myself in my Escort Cosworth. Hope you can make it and i look forward to seeing your metal on the day The venue is Dunsold Aerodrome (Top Gear track) the date is and the event is called 'Dads day Out' this is a charity event where Joe public turn up and pay for a ride in a Supercar on the airfield. I know one of the organisers and where we fit in is that they have a large area for a static display and want visiting car clubs to show up and put on a display. So if you fancy displaying your pride & joy alongside some of the finest marques known to mankind, here is your opportunity Some of the other car clubs on the static display are as follows with more to come and in the region of 1000 cars expected :- 911UK X-bow owners club Atom owners club Lamborghini Owners Club Surrey classic vehicle club Aston Martin owners club (yet to confirm) Bentley drivers club S2000 owners club RS246 GT Spirit TVR Owners Club Jaguar enthusiasts Club Rolls Royce enthusiasts club Cobra Owners club And of course a whole load of Ferrari's.........well, what did you expect I believe many of those attending won't be regulars at RS shows so help me put on a good display and show our Marque in a good light and see if we can't win over some new fans This is a prestigous Charitable event in respect of the Childrens Trust and all it's going to cost you to get your car on the display is £7 for the car and that includes all your passengers If you are attending and displaying please notify me by PM but only do this after you have booked using the following link so that i know you are confirmed and i can give the organisers accurate figures..... Thank you Link to follow There is a seperate link to book yourself in if you are not displaying a car and it is that same link also to book your Supercar rides........ i would advise booking these asap as they will quite possibly not be available on the day due to popularity The link in question is at the bottom of this post. Look forward to seeing you on the day A little more info i have on the event, cut & pasted below plus this thread will be updated on arrival times etc nearer the time :- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is the 2nd year of 'Dads Day Out' and it's going to be even better than 2009. We had over 4,000 people at the last event with 700 rides from 100 or so supercars. This year the event is on Sunday May 16th and we've been given the go ahead to drive for longer which means more rides and more action all day long. Dont forget the rest of the action though, Live bands (including a secret special guest) Helicopter rides (subject to Dunsfold approval) kids rides (including Roary the racing car) Car club displays. Fun Fair Bouncy castles two massive marquees to shelter from the sun Great food loads of stands and stalls to keep you occupied. fire engine demonstrations double decker bus rides more and more will be added as the time gets nearer so check back to see what exciting stuff we have in store for you the cars on track will include a mix of; Ferraris, Lamborghinis Dodge Vipers, Ariel Atoms KTM Crossbows AC Cobras and a few special guests too entrance is £7 for Adults £3 for children £15 family ticket £20 standard supercar rides (2 high speed passenger laps) blue Ribband cars (Atom/X-bow F40, F50 CGT, Zonda, Enzo etc) will be extra...buy a standard ticket and upgrade on the day. to book entry and ride tickets click here Link to follow --------------------------------------------------------------------- Last but not least, here is a little taster of last years event......
Spiritof'76 Posted April 7, 2010 Author Report Posted April 7, 2010 Unfortunately due to this being my first post the site won't allow me to post links in the thread so i have had to remove them for the time being, but hopefully when this is resolved i can put them back The links will be to the booking page for tickets and there is a little YouTube vid of last years event
Spiritof'76 Posted April 7, 2010 Author Report Posted April 7, 2010 Forgot to mention the Dunsfold location.......... GU6 8TB Also helps get me up to my 10 posts when i will be allowed to post the links
Admin Mk2Jo Posted April 8, 2010 Admin Report Posted April 8, 2010 Link below http://www.thechildrenstrust.org.uk/eve ... th=&page=2 Looks like this is for a very good cause guys Unfortunately, we are elsewhere that week-end otherwise we would certainly have been tempted as it's only about an hour from us Good Luck with the day
Spiritof'76 Posted April 8, 2010 Author Report Posted April 8, 2010 Thanks for posting the linl MK2Jo Just so folks know what to do...... once you click the link select 'buy your tickets' then select 'Events' and from the drop down box select 'Dads day out' then on the right hand side of the page in the Best Sellers section select ' Car Display Ticket' Your £7 will get you your car and your passengers in Unlike general admission tickets that will leave you out in the car park and only admits one person for 7 quid Mk2jo when you say 'we are elsewhere that weekend' do you mean just yourself or is there another event on for Old Skool Ford'ers that means i'm not gonna get much interest for the Dunsfold event ?
SmokeEm Posted April 8, 2010 Report Posted April 8, 2010 Its one of the rounds of the oldskoolford drag championship which means some of us couldn't make it but there will be loads that can
Spiritof'76 Posted April 8, 2010 Author Report Posted April 8, 2010 Its one of the rounds of the oldskoolford drag championship which means some of us couldn't make it but there will be loads that can Ok SmokeEm, thanks for that.......... will see what interest there is then

lotusless Posted April 10, 2010 Report Posted April 10, 2010 Random post for the hell of it Once i get to 10 posts i can put the links in the thread but the link is allready there so only people with RS models can attend then? what about other "not so rich" people?
Spiritof'76 Posted April 10, 2010 Author Report Posted April 10, 2010 Random post for the hell of it Once i get to 10 posts i can put the links in the thread but the link is allready there so only people with RS models can attend then? what about other "not so rich" people? Yes, there is a link already posted but i was gonna make life a little easier by posting a direct link to the car display tickets as i didn't want anyone to mistakenly purchase a general admission ticket as those will not allow the buyer into the display area with their car There was also a YouTube clip from last year i was gonna put up......... and i will when i reach my 10 posts However, a new plan has emerged in that now a member from this site has kindly offered to co-ordinate a dedicated 'Old Skool Ford Stand' within/alongside my RS stand......... so that in effect answers your question....... all from here are welcome Not just RS owners. So keep your eyes peeled as i'm sure there will be a new thread or post very soon about the OSF stand. Thanks for your interest
