confuse him more by asking him which he thinks is coldest in the same room, wood or steel, the answer is theyre the same its just that steel takes heat away from the body quicker, try it on him

basically, a turbo compresses air so that more fits into the engine (bigger bang = more power). the problem is that this heats the air up, an intercooler cools the air down (cos cooler air is denser and gives better performance)

 

if the air's already cool tho, why bother?

lol, i believe i learned that little nugget from your good self when you told me about the story about the kid who went for an interview for a job (at your place?) and was asked what a turbo does, he replied 'heats up the air', he was then asked what an intercooler does and replied 'cools it down again'
