Norway ford 91 Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 Ok. i got my 1.1 mk1 fiesta 2 months ago, and its not realy that fast, it says it got 60 hp but i doubt it (maybe 40/45 since its so old?) xD now im looking for some engine tuning for the little 1.1. anyone know were i can get sport exhaust for it and maybe a double webber carburetor? and could i put anything else on the 1.1 that would increase its hp? i had a idea for a while to change engine, but since im only 19 yrs old and dont got that much knowledge yett, im waiting whit it since i gotta know allot to do it. i live in norway so if you know a company that could send the stuff i need here i would appreciate it its from 1979 btw
Durham Fiesta Posted May 4, 2010 Report Posted May 4, 2010 check out the fiesta section for a few ideas . I'd personally not bother spending money on the 1.1 . Probably better going for the 1300 or 1600. Fiesta's are pretty simple to work on so with basic skills with the spanners , you should be able to swap the engine pretty easily . Check out www.fiesta-mk1.co.uk , always plenty bits for sale and plenty inspiration
Norway ford 91 Posted May 5, 2010 Author Report Posted May 5, 2010 so no sports exhaust or dobbel webber?
Mr Sam Posted May 5, 2010 Report Posted May 5, 2010 there was a rare RS/X-pac option of twin 36's these claim to give an instant 60bhp there were also supposedly a cam and 4 branch but only ever seen one of the manifolds start off with a good service, if youve got the skill head gasgets are cheap enough to be worth doing also late mk2's came with electronic ignition if you can get hold of an electronic distributor there alot more user friendly and reliable than points
