Mk1-Al Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Hi my son is just wondering wether a 1.25zetec engine out of a mk5 fiesta would fit into a mk1 fiesta with out to much hassle?? he has the engine, gearbox and exhaust which he has taken from his broken mk5 fiesta and really wants a mk1 fiesta shell to put it in.. thanks alot al.
GT_lenny Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 can it be done?? i dont see why not just depends how talented you are with a welder i think what youre really asking is has it been done
pads Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 The exhaust manifold exits at the firewall instead of the radiator side so it would get in the way of the driveshafts on a mk1. People use endura's out of the mk4/5 or ka fit straight in but you have the wiring nuisance.
Mk1-Al Posted May 24, 2010 Author Report Posted May 24, 2010 ok thanks, so its kinda tricky to do?? lol and the exhaust manifold.. would i be able to use a mk1 festa exhaust on that engine?? thanks for the help my son's dream could come true haha
pads Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 Dont think you could use this engine because of were the manifold exits. You could try but it might end in tears. You could ask on here http://www.fiesta-mk1.co.uk
Mk1-Al Posted May 24, 2010 Author Report Posted May 24, 2010 yeah please mate thanks alot surely it couldn't be to different from fittin a 1.8 zetec like some of the other kids do with theres?? but im not sure lol
dannyb Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 although this is a duratec engine the exhaust coming out the back wont be a problem the full build can be found at www.zetecinside.com
Mk1-Al Posted May 24, 2010 Author Report Posted May 24, 2010 love it that looks great thats good new's then just need to know where the original exhaust would work with a zetec?? or would be better to get one made?? thanks for all the help guys
dannyb Posted May 24, 2010 Report Posted May 24, 2010 the one in that car was made by tony law and probably cost a few quid
Mk1-Al Posted May 24, 2010 Author Report Posted May 24, 2010 ok i'll keep that in mind.. but also look around as budget not to good for my son at the moment with insurance and everything.. thanks mate
