Trevmk3 Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 Right then peeps i need a little bit of help in identifying something i found in the back of a cupboard ealier, never seen it before in my life and it is something my dad had for some reason (cant ask him before anyone says). any rough idea would be good The spindle on the end spins and makes the needle on the gauge go up, the black collar under the spindle rotates to different settings (30-120, 100-400, 300-1200, 1000-4000, 3000-12000) and these affect the spindle speed registering on the gauge (figured that bit out by pissing about with it). The other bits will attatch to the spindle but have no idea what they are. The gauge has Hardings Ltd on it but that is about the only thing on it

mk3cokebottle Posted October 2, 2010 Report Posted October 2, 2010 have a look or contact these people www.prestonservices.co.uk revolution counters are used alot on old steam engines / traction engines and trains , give the peeps a shout at the museum and they will be able to help you in the condition its in with all its bits and even the lubrication i should imagine its worth a couple of quid aswell if your still wnating info or dont have any luck with preston services contact old glory steam magazine to see if they can point you in the right direction of a more helpfull person than me lol
