72mk1escort Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Hey guys its my 21st today got some bucket seats from mum and dad they got them from ratsport and ordered their runners with them but the problem is they are going to sit to low to the floor with these runners or need adapting/raising to fit properly. What i wondered is has someone on here fitted these seats: http://shop1.actinicexpress.co.uk/shops ... mp_pic.jpg into a mk1 escort and if so which runners or subframes did you use etc. If someone has a link to the bits to fit the seats that would be brilliant. any help would be really appreciated. Cheers Guys

72mk1escort Posted November 10, 2010 Author Report Posted November 10, 2010 cant u adapt your existing runners pete?... if not i may have a pair up the w/shop....ill have a look on saturday Pretty sure cant use existing runners mate as mine are not conventional ones they are strange things that early mk1 escorts have LOL the universal runners that dont have built in subframes would sit to close to the floor and o wouldnt be able to see over the steering wheel lol. I recon i need something more like these ones mate: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/UNIVERSAL-CAR-BUC ... _728wt_905 what do people think would the above do the job pricey but would rather have the right bits than bodge seats in
youngpecker Posted November 10, 2010 Report Posted November 10, 2010 Happy Birthday mate!!!.Your seats are very similar to the ones i have fitted to my 2 door, they are cobras.I bought some second hand subs off the bay...saxo i think if i had fitted to floorpan they would also have been very low and also not had the tilt forward option for rear seat entry, slight modification and mounted on box section and legs on rear of frames gives tilt action and a slightly elevated position to standard.A.T.B. joe1600 Posted November 11, 2010 Report Posted November 11, 2010 Happy birthday pal. I’ve just fitted a set to my mk1, i made my own seat runners, set the seats up so that my shoulders are in line with the bottom of the window. Here’s a pic.
