OSF friendly garage

Evening all

 

Just spent the summer rebuilding the engine on my mk2 escort. Taken ages as my dad's been helping but the engine hoist and garage are his and 150 miles away.

 

Got it MOT'd drove it down last week, came off the motorway and couldn't get any gears. Think it's the thrust bearing as can get some gears but makes a slight squealing sound.

 

Anyway, at the moment I'm not sure I can face redoing everything I've just done eg take the engine out again etc; and sort out the car to be trailored back up to my dad's garage. So I was wondering if it would be easier to get a garage to do it for me.

 

As you can appreciate I feel a little uneasy about letting anyone else do the work as I've always done the work myself, so i was wondering if anyone who can recommend a friendly garage in london/ south east who could give me a quote to weigh up the possibilities.
