Transit Front hub change ? Anyone done it ?

Ok so i think i got some rear springs sorted for my Transit recovery truck and the "doner" van a 3675 gvw mini bus has the same front hub and wheel stud pattern as my rear twin axle.

 

 

Has anyone tried to fit the six stud hubs from a twin wheel base onto a L reg van that has front coil springs and power steering ?

 

It all looks similar, although i'm told i cant fit the front leaf springs ? i don't want to strip it all to find they wont fit !!!

what year is the donor? . if it 1991/2000 they will fit,bearings are same, but sngle and twin wheel are differant widths.(the twinwheel hub will stick out furter) the front coil springs on mini bus will be better then the ones youve got.if the donor van is earlier then 91 then the rear leaf spring will not fit or the front hubs

It's on a G reg, it has front leaf spring not coil, although mine has coil !!!

 

My mate has had this sat in his yard for a few years so worth a try.

 

Why wont the front hubs fit ? Just wondering what i should be looking for ?

nothing will be same hubs springs axle front and rear are all differant ,that has steering box and kingpins, narrower rear axle, rear springs are shorter. you need a 1991 onwards as long as its got front coil springs and steering rack most parts are the same,

What about a single wheel 190 lwb ?

 

I also know of one of them being scrapped it's a M reg i think ?

 

Only thing is the wheel pcd the same if i fitted the front hubs and springs, can i use 14" twin wheel type wheels to match the rears ?

 

I've searched and there's loads of parts out there but need to find the right ones to match mine, and it's hard to tell what will or wont fit
