V5 question

Hi all, have a bit of a strange question but heres the scenario.

If my mate knew of a totally knackered MK1 escort that had a tree growing thru it and is 99% sure the shell was a waste of time repairing, what value would the documents be to someone knowing that it is from a legitimate car thats just rotten to bits.

I presume the official answer is that its not but I guess this sort of thing has cropped up before.

Also, what is the worst condition shell that has still be salvaged and brought back to life as he may well be wrong?

if is fooked its fooked as for the v5, it is not illegal to sell the documents and tags, it becomes illegal when the id is put onto a car that it does not belong on

Well he seems to be sure the shell is fooked and I guess the V5 is useful to someone but get what you are saying about it, Thanks
