karengunner Posted August 3, 2011 Author Report Posted August 3, 2011 I comming up from Oxford i normally get on M40 at Junction 9 go up to the A43 ........... if you decide to go that route i'd like to meet up, some of the Reading lot are doing the same route as well i beleive Great, perhaps you could suggest a pit stop then?
Savvi Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 I go past Cherwell Valley (M40 Junction 10) the route i go, however Tim lives very close and the way he's mentioned in his post may not take us past the services ? I dont go up that way much as i'm more South Oxfordshire. Hopefully he can update us more on that ? They should have most things that peeps would want http://motorwayservicesonline.co.uk/Cherwell_Valley
tim Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 there oxford services at junc8a or as savvi said cherwell at jun10 which is where you would be coming off for silverstone/A43 normally
Savvi Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 The route you mentioned earlier Tim to avoid the traffic which is the best of the two ? I'm not sure the roads you were meaning
tim Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 when i go to silverstone from bicester i go A4421 towards finmere, then head towards Tingwick, in the village turn left at the roundabout sign posted to Stow landscape gardens, stright over the A422. Turn left at the end of the stright (roller coaster up and down) towards Dadford, this take you into silverstone from the south oppisite to the A43 these are country roads so might not be suitable for ultra low cars but good fun to drive
Savvi Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 Yep ......... know where you mean now As you said the roads are not the best, do they still have Finmere Market, so it may be better to go up to the Cherwell valley junction ? I can meet either way if you decide to meet at 8a then i will pick you up near Biecester off Junction 9.
tim Posted August 3, 2011 Report Posted August 3, 2011 the market still happens but not that busy ill still be in bed sunday morning,am not off to ford fair, drive into the cotswolds looks to be on the cards tho
