MARK FRST Posted October 29, 2011 Report Posted October 29, 2011 founed a mk2 escort set of clocks with a coat of arms with 3 lions can anyone tell me what these are or mean?
mk1mexico Posted October 31, 2011 Report Posted October 31, 2011 They were fitted to the more basic models mate, L's or Pops etc guess it was just to make the space more interesting where the fuel and temp would be with a rev counter fitted.
In The Pit Posted November 4, 2011 Report Posted November 4, 2011 These were fitted to early cars that didnt have a rev counter fitted, at some point probably in 1976 they vanished and you just got a black circle where the shield was. The lion shield seems to be a logo Ford were using at the time as late MKIII Cortinas had it on their grille and Ford keys from the time had it on. Prototype MKII Escort Ghia models had it on their steering wheel but I dont think it ever made production models. Worth hanging onto these clocks as there cant be many sets left now.
