1600E cortina production information

Hi.

 

Having looked all over the internet (and I've seen some strange websites)

I'm now appealing to you all. I know I've seen what I'm looking for but cannot for the life of me remember where.

 

So here goes.

 

Does anyone know the numerical order that the Mk2 1600E Cortina chassis numbers were produced. I know that there were 60k plus made in total.

But I'm sure I saw that they started from xxxxx number and ran till xxxxx

I'm trying to place mine but having got it with no history at all (weird i know) I now want to try and sort something out.

 

the vin on mine is BA97HR24007 and it was built feb 1968 and reg 7th March 1968 but it cannot have been the 24,007th one built can it??

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
