mk2esccy Posted November 6, 2013 Report Posted November 6, 2013 Would this be easy to set up?.....for example find where most classics are going missing from and leave a nice shiny rs or other car...advertise it as if selling or drive it around awhile to attract attention then watch it round the clock. If someone tries to take it then they may lead us to recovering other cars. ...I know it's a bit hawaii 50 but is it as daft as it sounds ?
quickrack Posted November 7, 2013 Report Posted November 7, 2013 I think its a good idea but I reckon you would need Police or it would probably get YOU in trouble....
Mgentry90 Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 And MAkE SURE U DON'T LOSE IT!! Or you will for sure get a few slaps afterwards
Savvi Posted November 9, 2013 Report Posted November 9, 2013 I personally believe that people who steal these are close to the community, im not saying for sure but it's easy for someone to join a few forums and lurk in the background ready to pounce. So with that in mind do you think it may be difficult to set up a "sting" ?
escortmad79 Posted November 11, 2013 Report Posted November 11, 2013 No doubt there are a few thieving undesirables who read & post on forums
Mgentry90 Posted November 12, 2013 Report Posted November 12, 2013 Tbh, if I buy a part off one of you lot, and collect it, I then know 50/50 if there's a motor in your garage, and I have your address.. Nothing is safe. Even a tracker can be removed
Milts Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 I was thinking of selling my Anglia on here! ............. getting cold feet now
mk2 mike Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 Best thing to do when selling is meet away from home, a fuel station forecourt or supermarket car park 20 mins or so away. When you're done if they don't buy just go for a bit of a long route home, checking your mirror. Go round roundabouts 3/4 times and see if anyone else does. Go down a road and do a 3 point turn again seeing if anyone else follows. If they do, don't take it home. Its a bit of a ball ache but worth it. Just make sure you've got all paperwork and bits with you to complete the sale if needed so you don't need to return home halfway through the sale. 1
