4 Speed Gearbox's

Is there much of a driving difference between say an ordinary 1100/1300 4 speed and the Sport/Xl 4 speed??

Not the 2000e mind.

no to the first. and yes the sport has slightly better gearing the xl's the same answer as the first question

I realise they have better gearing (close ratio) but its the driving experience I was wondering about mostly??

Didnt anyone here ever go from a standard 4 speed gearbox to the close ratio 4 speed then or are ye all shy???

I have both a replacement SPORT type 4 speed and a Type 9. Neither have any providence so a rebuild is needed and I

hear a lot about "that" 1st to 2nd gap on the type 9 but a gearset is very expensive so now I am undecided....
