Mgentry90 Posted December 20, 2013 Report Posted December 20, 2013 Rear disc conversion means the spigots on my half shafts will need extending by around 10mm, does anyone know a place that could do this for me in south Essex area/top of Kent area?
rallyesport04 Posted December 21, 2013 Report Posted December 21, 2013 i never extended mine an had no issues if your got a escort use mk2 halfshafts they have a large shoulder that the disk can sit on
rallyesport04 Posted December 22, 2013 Report Posted December 22, 2013 i thought atlas axles had a large spiot like a mk2 escort i had no issues running a disk convertion without any spigot mos i dont think the rally boys change the size/depth of the spigot either the fully floating atlas' hardly have a spigot at all the disk sits on h/d group4 studs there not cheap tho
Mgentry90 Posted December 22, 2013 Author Report Posted December 22, 2013 Ok, so for a fast road car and hub face mounted discs you think I'd be ok?
rallyesport04 Posted December 24, 2013 Report Posted December 24, 2013 yea shouldnt be an issue at all for fast road use even with the disk on theres still a small amount of spigot left for the wheel to sit on i would be concered if there was nothing as it would put all the load on the studs but people use large non hubcentric wheel spacers an get away with it for road use
luckyjim Posted December 26, 2013 Report Posted December 26, 2013 If you do decide to get some made up there is a small engineering shop at the globe works industrial estate in grays, but I cant remember what they are called now.if you enter the estate by Hewitts mot station then go down to the junction, turn left then left again into a yard with several units they are in there. hope this helps mate.
