sparky Posted December 24, 2013 Report Posted December 24, 2013 Hello, Looking for a new pair of Ford front wings for the Escort MK2, want to buy Genuine Ford ones only, will pay cash and collect anywhere, have non genuine one's on car and they do not fit as good as Ford ones. Thanks, and all the best to everyone for Christmas. Cyril.
PaulMags Posted December 27, 2013 Report Posted December 27, 2013 Maybe the non gen ones were a shite make i've always supplied non gen and fitted them myself and i'dsay you'd have the same prob with gen if you can find them but would be a stupid price as people take the pisss with gen parts.dont forget the cars are old now and have moved about alot so you have to make them fit.
Escort Mk1 4 Door Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 as above gen parts are mental money seen a mk1 esc gen ford front panel square head light with crank hole at nearly 400 before
5tox Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 i have always found magnum panels to fit pretty well, i have a set of mk1 wings in the post. will let you know how they fit if your interested?
PaulMags Posted December 28, 2013 Report Posted December 28, 2013 Magnum dont make the mk2 wings but do sell them.as everybody else.they are all made in Italy and have done for years but there presses are are some kind of plastic so obvious when there coming to there end of life they start to go out of shape a bit and end up with ripples on the flat part on top of the wing.when that happens then they replace part of the press.mk1 wings are made in Taiwan and are very good way better than when the Irish firm had them repo in the first place.
sparky Posted January 1, 2014 Author Report Posted January 1, 2014 Hi all, Due to the sentimental value of the car (my Dad.s last car), I am prepared to pay what ever the cost of genuine parts cost. I have found a genuine Ford front panel and lights and bumper, grill and indicatiors, just want to complete the front end stuff with genuine Ford wings as well, if anyone ever hear's of the location of a set of wings I would be very pleased to hear from them. Thanks Cyril, and Happy New Year to all.
PaulMags Posted January 2, 2014 Report Posted January 2, 2014 Look up roy nunn he always has genuine parts around him but knows how to charge.
