Mk1 escort electrics help??

My mk1 escort has a strange problem, my indicators work great until I switch the wind screen wipers on it blows the number 6 fuse ( indicators)????????

 

Being on different circuits how can one affect the other???

You have a wire touching someware, bad earths can cause all sorts of weird things, make sure the earths you have are good, sometimes if you have an earth point and a fault on another circuit it will travel up your earth wire if they are all earthed in the same place,I always use a couple of Earth points not just one, if you have problems let me know I will come and have a look,there's not much to go wrong,are the indicators using the body of the car with new paint on the car as this causes problems, try holding a good wire from the back of the indicators to a good earth then try but I would say you have a wire touching the wiper unit

Thanks for the reply mate, think it's sorted now , two plugs on the loom were the wrong way round , so fingers crossed it stays sorted
