Fast eddie Posted May 4, 2020 Report Posted May 4, 2020 Hey guys, my nipper is 6ft7 and really struggling to fit in his capri, is there a way of moving the seat back without too much work (welding ect) cheers x
DT36 Posted May 4, 2020 Report Posted May 4, 2020 I think the only viable option is to remove the seat and then the floor mount from the base of the seat base/sliders. Get some steel plate that is cut to the same width as the seat sliders, but have it about 3 inches longer. Drill holes in the new length of plate to match the existing holes, with one hole close to the start of the new length of plate. Then drill more holes about 1 inch and 2 inches back from the original holes. Bolt the new length of plate to the seat base/slider with the protrusion towards the front of the seat. If the first hole at 1 inch is too short, then re-bolt it into the second hole that you measured at 2 inches. Re-fit the floor mounts to the new plate where the first set of existing holes were drilled. Hopefully, this will give the needed rearward travel without having to do any welding. Seat height with additional plate added will probably not be noticeable. 1
