  1. Hi, will do. On stands at mo, but I will find her best side.
  2. Hi, I'm Paul I am 45 and live near Hook in Hampshire. Sounds like I am confessing my sins, but I would not do that in writing. I have a 1972 1300GT Mk1 Escort. Been replacing bits and bobs over the last two, or three years. Had the car just over four years I think. It's been off the road most of that time. I can handle the mechanics being a mechanic from some time ago, but not been on the tools for 20+ years. I am really poor with electrics (already posted for help with my battery not charging!). Don't know why, must be a mental block. Anyway, I new to forums, so bear with me if you are responding, I am not stupid honest.
  3. Hello all, just joined today I have a Escort Mk1 1300GT. Bought it about 4 and a half years ago and ever since it has been pretty much sat on my drive for varying reasons. I have a problem with my battery not charging since I put the engine bay back together. I will admit electrics and me do not get on. Basically the car was already converted to an Alternator, but still has the voltage regulator. The voltage regulator still had/has all the wires connected with the exception of the WL, which is no where to be seen. I have replaced the Alternator, with no improvement. There are two red and white wires, coming from the large terminals of the Alternator and one blue one, which I have traced to earth. The battery warning light is one when the engine runs and the battery does not appear to be charging, so I can only assume I have connected it back up incorrectly. Can someone please help. Cheers.
