Hi i'm Johnathan Hughes from south wales. I'm a 22 year old aircraft engineer and i bought my mk1 escort van 18 months ago for my 21st birthday. It started out was a clean period modified van but i have made big changes since owning her. A run down of the spec when i had her is below:
1971 tax exempt escort van in olympic blue with royal blue rs2k stripes
Genuine mexico/rs2k wings
1600 m711 unknown spec xflow (went well and had unleaded valve seats)
4 speed box and 3.77 english axle
Mix and match of pov spec and sports front arb handled like a pig!
Shagged out rear shocks
Vented disks with spaced m16 callipers sticking and seized
9" drums on the rear off a mex and a crap hand brake
New spec (not completed)
Olympic blue with satin black mex stripes
'RS2300' I4 engine
Group 4 big header alley rad
MBE ecu ignition only
Custom made engine mounts (by myself)
Custom made inlet for twin 45 webers (bogg bros)
Tony law custom made sand bent exhaust manifold
Custom made gearbox x member (by myself)
Rebuilt type 9 gearbox with the longer 1st gear
Hydraulic clutch conversion
Single peice prop
Choice of ratios 3.77, 2.89, 4.1
Possible anglia van axle to fit the 13x8.5 minilites in the standard arches
2.8i/rs2k front struts tarmac/forest billies roller top mounts
Twink front arb and double width kit for more caster
Adjustable tca's

I'm sure i've missed something but thats the run down of it all really. I will start a thread and put some pictures up to show you all the transformation that has gone on in the last 18 month. I'm hoping to get her in primer and road worthy may as we are of the the nurburg ring again and i want to see if my new toy will beat my old car round there.
