Hi V6col Yes the pressure stays up even when hot. Your bang on right about the dip stick sleeve yes it has been moved over so will have a look what I can do about that when I have the sump off. I will also do what you say about the breather pipes etc also just had a thought I used some fuel line pipe from the crank case breather to the catch can and now I'm wondering if the pipe is collapsing under heat. Now thats something I hadn't considered as I have a alloy sump on it an some I have notice only have a little hole for the dip stick to go into so it might not be going in correctly I'm going to have the sump off hopefully at the week end could any one tell me is it possiable to support the engine from the top and then remove the cross member to allow the the to come off or have I got to take the engine out? Thanks

Hi. Done a compression test today all 4 cylinders were 180 to 190 psi so don't think I have a ring problem.

Hi everyone I have just brought a replacement 20L pinto engine from out a rally car and really do with some advise. The engine spec Lightened and balanced Kent rally cam High pressure oil pump Twin 45 carbs The two main problem I have the oil pressure is between 90 to 100 psi is this normal with a high pressure pump, The next problem I have is really baffling me if I go for a short run say 10 miles it blows the dip stick up and pushes oil out but I have breather out let which is not even a pcv valve it's just open its down low say at oil filter level on the same side just like the stock car boys have them and I have this piped into my catch can along with the rocker cover breather all this is completely open so how can I be getting pressure up the dip stick????
