  4. Just Had myself a Mk4 Cortina, with a BOB 2.9 engine chucked into it, and after loads of motors, Im back to being 17 again, have a perma smile on my onion, love it, needs fettling and fiddling with, but thats what I was missing in life, sad really, but Im in old skool heaven!! LOL

  6. Oh Lord, memories, my dad used to get street machine and the beano for me when I was a nipper!!, and I actually sat in the Henry Hirise Consul at, I think Bingley hall custom show, back in the early 80's, bout 12 at the time, halcyon days
  7. Just had delivery of my MK4 cortina fitted with a BOB 2.9 cossie engine mated to a t9 box. My problem is, start her up, goes straight to 2,500 rpm for 5 or so seconds, then drops and wavers between almost cutting out, and racing at 2000 revs. Drove her around the block and stalls when you brake, called the vendor in question, and he suggested a vss to be fitted to the box, would help. Any clues out there would be hugely helpful, Im a carb man!! sensors and witchigrubs Im nay too up on

Just been doing some interwebbing, found out a fair bit, had £1000's spent on a resto in 06, in Im guessing approx 2010 had a ford chappie by the name of Steve Taylor fit the cozzie engine, (is it cozzie, or cossie?) new fuel pump, lines, clutch, strengthened t9 box, waterpump, boa ecu, and loom. has capri 2.8 front brakes, and axle. Im a thinking Ive got a bit of a bargain here! one more day to go afore she arrives.

Best bet is to visit car shows, and ask the guys how they obtained theirs, and what to look for. saying that I'm in the same boat really as you, been 20 odd years since I brought a ford, and I'm collecting one Friday, 2 grand paid, and Ive just seen a picture. lordy sakes who am I to give advice!!
