  1. I'm interested in knowing this too, I would say maybe 3" extra each side at the front track? Less for the rears.
  2. It was 4 degrees today......so..
  3. All good results there. I like the idea of weighing them too
  4. Its a lush car, but it was more of a pastel blue
  5. I loved this car, what colour blue is that? Any idea of the owner?
  6. Minilites on the front and jb minilites reps 8in on the back simon How much did you shorten the axle by? Or is your ladder bar setup allowing the coilovers to sit behind the axle? Hope to be at the next meet simon i'm running a anglia axle with ladder bars and gaz coil overs like you said behind ill find what off set i had. To get the 8's to look ok i had to fit a hub spacer of 30mm plus a 15mm spacer lol 11's sit under but looks metal lol I'm yet to get an axle, so have the advantage of having it shortened to whatever length to suit the wheels, I'm going to have to get the coilovers tucked into the arches for 8"s for sure!!! I'm going 6 link rear, Gaz coilovers too

  8. lovely collection, Im Really liking your Escort Darren, them Compomotive Minilites??
  9. Nice work Gary Tom, I will be going for this bolt-on version to keep strut tops untouched, £159 [/img]
  10. The 4 turbos didn't help then!?
  11. Parts will be delivered this week for the car works, so collection will be Saturday 20th more like Thank you for all the advice peeps
  12. Hi people, I am in desperate need of someone with a trailor or recovery truck to help me pick up a Mk1 shell from Richmond, take to Brands Hatch, swap for another shell and bring back to Richmond. I will of course pay for fuel costs. I would need the help this Saturday 13th November. Can anyone recommend a company that does this service? Simon
  13. welding two extra mounts (body/axle) try it, if works keep, if not you just have brackets. I don't know if the metal can be re-tempered? Im sure there is a company that does them? The Capri 2.8 rear leafs should fit on the Mk2? they are 50mm wide though, I think the Mk2's are 60mm?
  14. Hahaha, Im chilled mate! I just thought you missed my angle, silly billy the ghia springs are quite sort after I think for that reason. Would help squat. moving the damper behind the axle would improve efficiency angle (for drag racing)
  15. This bit I think he meant leaf springs, just giving OE poundage as a guide.
  16. I think compression struts were more for gravel/forest cars with higher ride heights and to combat bent ARB's when hitting yumps in the rally stages. Tension struts are a ideal off the shelf bolt on for tarmac cars and require no welding to fit. expensive as you need to buy a new ARB to us the drop link arms, but offer the best control. Higher front spring poundages can 'SOMETIMES' lead to undesteer problems. Ratman- I admire your home brewed approach will have a crawl underneath to have a peek next time you are at Boxhill
  17. You may be able to run stage one on that block, walls thickness are the same I think as 2wd 205?? Flat pistons will give too high compression for Turbo use, Naturally aspirtated sway towards flat and convex pistons if head combustion chamber allows.
  18. Tom, I was giving info on the spring poundages Matt has, not sure if it's correct
  19. I would try AVO or Gaz adjustables first? the rear Ghia springs are 116lbs i think? not sure? but you could go decambered and bin lowering blocks to stiffen up rear and eliminate tramp? Or we could come up with a 4 link system, bin leaves, use original pickups without cutting floor and mount coilovers to axle (attached to rear of axle case) try dampers first? do spax offer a freshen up!?
  20. When I was typing that I thought i bet..... low and behold!!
  21. A good turnout (at Boxhill) Personal inspiration from This Mk1. Anyone know the colour? [/img] Loved this sleeper Thames Van [/img]
