CHeers for reply mate , I been out with the sticky tape and got it started,,,,,reeesult, still thought a car couldnt be hotwired with immobiliser fitted, back to the ole crooklock from now on!

hi I am new here, so ere goes....I own a mk5 escort which was stolen Saturday night , went for a walk yesterday (no choice!) and found it 200 yards from where I live , I thought the immobiliser would have stopped them ?????? or does it stop the fuel pump after it starts maybe, or possibly fuse blew , or maybe they just got cold feet, thought they had been spotted or something, bless 'em !....they have hotwired it to move it and cut a small circular thingy (about 3cm diameter 1cm deep ) off ,it was left on the seat ,it has several stubby wires coming from it, I have tried to turn the key but it has no spring when turned forward ,also have tried to touch the two red wires together that appear to have been cut ...nothing , anyone out there any advice on how I may start it to get it back o/s my house (if I can avoid paying a recovery truck it would be handy)..... any replies would be so appreciated
