Right, I can't make my mind up which way to go with what engine I want in my mk2 escort. I have bought an st170 engine and was planning on fitting it with jenvey throttle bodies on a type 9 gearbox. I have always dreamed of having a cosworth turbo powered mk2 but don't fully know what is involved with fitting it. I don't want to modify the engine bay massively. Would I use the type 9 gearbox with the cosworth engine? What mods are needed in the engine bay to fit the cosworth? As my car is bare metal so need to make any mods before painting. Are there any build diaries of anyone who has built a cosworth mk2 as I can't find any. Would you say the cost of either an st170 and a cosworth would be similar? Thanks

I will put photos up soon and will do a build diary on here. I do like the forest arches but my arches are mint with next to no rust. Overall, the shell is really good condition, may need a few patches here and there to make mint but nothing major. Now just debating whether to get a zetec or st170 engine and wht to run them on :/ I have done 2 zetecs on bike carbs in the past but thinking throttle bodies this time.

Hello everyone Just signed up to the site. Thought I would say hello. Have just bought a escort mk2 1600 sport. In the process of stripping it to start getting the shell and body work rust free and looking like new then start building it back up. Still haven't decided one an engine choice or whether or not to fit Forrest arches :/ any advice or opinions welcome. Jon
