Thanks for the input everyone, I think I'm going to like being around the Blue Oval family. Shsss much better than the Triumph boys, but don't tell anyone. Reference to Aardvark's interesting input. In reply, the Anglia is 10 years older, and due to the good steel used in production, the condition is far better than the Russian Steel used in the Stag. When I restored that, it required new floors, suspension rail, front wings, front light assembly, Boot lid and upper and lower front Valance. So what I've seen on the Anglia doesn't frighten me. As for the engine I haven't decided yet. I'll get the body shell sorted first then decide. As for the Cossie, if I had 2-3 thousand pounds rattling around I could be tempted. The shell is stripped, all baring wheels and Steering and partially sandblasted. Once I have had the lower part of the shell blasted then I will be able to be in a better position to assess what needs to be done. I'll keep you all posted when I start which will be mid October. Thank you all for your comments, it's much appreciated. As you are probably all aware, every car nut goes through a kind of apprenticeship where they get to learn the do's and don'ts and whose a good supplier and whose not. Having played around with Triumphs for 15+ years and Lambrettas/Vespas even longer I would like to think I know them insideout. So mistake number 1 down to me. Hopefully I can sell on the engine and gearbox. I bought the Anglia for my wife as we both saw a slighty cutomised one at a local car show. The car I've bought came from e-bay as a rolling shell with everything with it (all in boxes) but no engine or gearbox. I'll be spending the next few months welding various panels to the car so I have a blank canverse, so to speak, to start with. I've joined the Anglia Owners club in the meantime but don't be surprised that I'll be back bending your ears. Cheers Steve

In the past I've restored a couple of Triumphs and have now just bought a basket case of a 105e. I intend to customise it as it came with a Ford 2.0 litre dohc and T75 gearbox from a Sierra XR4i. Being new to Ford I don't know whether the installation would be a good one? i'm open to suggestions. Cheers
