Thanks all for the helpful advice and information you have shared iv been looking at both blocks and full engines it's not much more for a full cosworth engine on eBay but I want everything to be new do you all think I am better off buyin an engine and stripping it down and replacing stuff or better with a brand new block?

The missus asked how much this project was going to cost I politely said I don't ask how much your shoes are!!! But yes it really is a no budget I am not rushing this project I want to do everything myself and I want it to be perfect it is my first project car and to say I have done it all myself will be a real achievement. Thanks for the replies guys much appreciated

There isn't a budget mate I want it to be amazing mate but at the same time I do want to be able to drive it when ever it takes my fancy

A don't want turbo mate but a want it to have a good kick to it so which engine block would I be looking at?

Hello all I am wanting to get a cosworth block to put in a mk2 escort, I want to build an engine from scratch for it and have everything new what would the best block to get for it and what would fit best? Thanks in advance oldskoolers
