Midnight Mark

Hi I've had my seats refurbished I desperately need a part for the recliner mechanism on my mk2 rs .. It's the bit that goes onto the shaft first.. then the plastic wheel goes on .. then the retainer clip ..etc I've got the wheel and retainer clip and the plastic cover .. Hope this makes sense CheeRs mark

Hi Thanks for your reply Midnight blue is a fantastic colour!! For me it was love at first sight!! There is a beautiful one on uk eBay at the moment.. I don't particular like the interior colour ( biege ) but the rest of the car is stunning.. Good luck with yours ..

Hi thanks for your comments My work mate bought the car in 86 .. I bought the car in 93 after nagging him to death to sell me it The car had blue velour seats front and back the same as a ghia ... We both assumed at some point in its early life it had stolen and the interior had taken and replaced ghia interior .., The first thing I did was to junk that interior a replace it with fishnet recaro I googled the reg number many years later and it was on a piston heads forum about my car apparently the first owner didn't want recaro seats .. So it was a custom model with a ghia interior even the dash had the fake wood on from the factory!!!

I was told it was the rarest colour for a mk2 rs2000 but I'm not sure that's a 100% true

Hi I introduced myself a couple of months ago so I thought I'd show a picture of my car .. It's a rare colour midnight blue ( I would love to know how many other midnight blue cars are left ?)as I've never seen another one at any shows !! I've owned the car for 23 years and its hopefully soon to go away for a full restoration The engine is currently with Harris performance engines to be built to a high spec.. Cheers Mark

Hi I've had a similar experience.. I purchased from one seller Upgraded front and rear brakes + front and rear suspension...(£2.4 k ) I checked his feedback on eBay which was excellent.. Did a Google company check which I could only find one review which was also good ... Then I made a mistake by not buying through eBay .... He told me everything was in stock except some front springs... I waited weeks and weeks for less than half of it to be delivered only to find that it's completely wrong.. Many more weeks to the other half arrived and bits missing Still promising to get me the correct gaz front shocks Another month or so he eventually admits that he can't get these any more ... And then takes weeks to refund me .., What is also frustrating that gaz advertise this front coilover as a new product out in all the magazines retro ..classic ford etc but no longer make it in the adonised finish ., I'm not impatient but I like people to be honest with me that's all I ask ... On a plus note I've been to a couple of shows the classic ford at Santa pod was awesome by far the best show I've been too ...

Hi Thanks for the welcomes and replies.. Yep definitely must of led a sheltered life!! I'm glad I'm not alone in experienceing long delays and dishonest suppliers I really thought it was just a run of bad luck!! It's my first car restoration and I'm on a learning curve !!

Hi my name is Mark I have a mk2 rs2000 (22 years )that is hopefully going away soon to be restored!!! What should of been a exciting time has been an absolute nightmare... Parts suppliers promiseing bits that they can't supply.... Waiting months for parts to arrive ..waiting 5 moths longer than the agreed restoration start date and my car is still waiting in my garage!! I'm wondering if this is a typical experience or have I just been unlucky..
