Hello All I've just joined as I will be on the look out for a 3 door Mk1 pretty soon if all goes to plan. My Dad had one when I was born back in 1978. It was a metallic purple (velvet?) 3 door with square headlamps if I recall correctly. It was our family car until 1985 when he sold it and bought a Skoda Estelle. I have fond memories of the Escort. Even though whenever we went on a long journey in it I threw up. So here I am at the age of 38 with a hankering to get a Mk1 project to work on with my 81 year old Dad while he's still able to. I'm gonna hang out here to do some research now. I dare say you'll be hearing from me soon. Bye for now
