Hi Old Skool Ford members,
Hoping you can provide some guidance on my situation...
Due to unfortunate circumstances recently I've been left a 1986 Escort Estate 1.3, in light blue (mileage unspecified). It was a lovely gesture, but I'm not sure what to do about it. It passed MOT a couple of years ago after some welding but has been SORN since, about 100 miles from where I live.
I've not got any use for the vehicle and I'm not a collector, so the only reasonable course of action seems to be putting it up for sale, but that would involve transporting it as the premises are in the process of being cleared - I've no towing facilities and not sure how it would fare on the motorway as its first trip in a long time...
Does anyone know if the vehicle has any value, being 32 years old now and assuming its in reasonable condition and drives? If so, I'd take the time to try and transport it, fix any obvious issues and sell it on. Otherwise I'd probably forego the offer and the vehicle would end up being scrapped as the family based closer by don't drive / aren't into cars.
Thoughts?
