  1. Did these wheels sell?
  2. I've got a mate who lives in telford if it helps, I'll dig them out tomorrow and post some pics upN
  3. I've got a pair of complete mk1 2 door seats that need covering if any use, whereabouts are you?
  4. For sale is my 1979 Diamond White Ford Escort 1600 Sport. It’s a UK model with a genuine 47000 miles. I’ve had the car nearly 18 months and it has been in regular daily use. The V5 is present and the car is in my name, the chassis number matches the engine. There is a lot of history with the car including every old mot to back up the mileage. I don’t know the full story of the cars restoration but I believe it was restored about 14 years ago, when it had a light restoration which included a new pair of front wings and a repaint. The strut tops and wing rails look original and don’t look like they have had any metal repair work, the vin can be seen stamped in to the off side strut top. Mechanically the car is standard apart from a middle and rear stainless steel exhaust system (that is a copy of the original) and Ford electronic ignition has been fitted (no more fiddly points and condenser changes), and a manual choke conversion. The engine is nice and quiet and doesn’t use any oil or water. The fan still has the housing surrounding the viscous fan, original manifold brace between the gearbox and 4 branch, and even had the sump drip guard fitted when I bought it. This will go with the car but I removed it as they are a bit fragile. The tyres all match around the car and have been on around 2000 miles, the spare tyre has not been used. The 3 spoke steering wheel still has texture all round it, the doors shut perfectly with a clunk I’ve not heard since I had first had one when they were 8 years old. The blue/ white chevron interior is near perfect, the original interior has very little wear, no holes, rips, stains or burns, no speaker holes and the original mw/lw radio fitted. Driving the car is as close as you are likely to get to how an original sport felt in 1979, fairly quiet with no crashes or bangs anywhere. I did the lakes tour this year and did 360 miles over the weekend with no problems and it averaged 38 mpg over the run. Its taxed until December and tested until next June. Only for sale as I have a few projects I want to finish and could do with putting some money in to them. The car is in Flintshire, North Wales, post code ch8, 30 minutes from Chester. Please no offers of PX’s, I don’t need another car, although I do like 70s/80s 2 stroke bikes . I can be contacted on 07507287478, and the car can be seen on the North Wales Classic Ford stand at the Manchester Classic Car show at the trafford centre this weekend http://www.manchesterclassiccarshow.com/ £9k ono

  8. Lads, I've organised a discounted rolling road day How do I book? I will need a £10 deposit that is not refundable but is transferable to secure a place, payable by paypal if poss to wayne@evansw.freeserve.co.uk. The remaining £15 will be payable on the day. The first 15 with deposits paid will secure a place. Is it Safe, I’m worried about my car? The guys at A&B are experienced rolling road operators which tune a wide range of vehicles. Your car will be hooked up to a gas analyser and an intelligent rolling road. The operator will monitor the engine output during the run which is much more that you can do sat in the driving seat. Will they rev the car to destruction? No you will be required to complete a small form before you attend the day and you can set the rpm limit the operator can take your car to; but remember its sounds louder when stood outside of the car. Where will it be held? A B Garage, Unit 167B Castle Close, Hawarden Ind. Park, Manor Lane, Hawarden, CH5 3PZ. Saturday, 22/8/09, Aim is to get there for 830-900, 1st car on at 9am, last car should be done by 2pm depending on how easy the cars can be strapped down. What should I do to get my car ready? A&B have advised the following: - No slick tyres (They heat up too quick) - Very low skirted vehicles may struggle to get on the rollers, so if you can't make it over a speed bump you might not get it on the rollers. - Check the cars fluid levels, oil water, etc and give the car the once over. - You will get a power graph and Torque / BHP showing figures at the road wheels. - If your engine is knocking like a bag of spanners and on its last legs a rolling road isn't going to help... Any questions give me a call on 07736843824 or A B can be contacted on 01244 537701 Still waiting deposits on provisionals, but so far we have:- 1. Wayne Moonstone 3 door, Standard. 2. 12. I was told the dies were worn out and once they get so far worn the wings go out of spec and wont fit. Would need a big investment from some one fo new dies...are the fibreglass ones worth considering?
  13. Hi All, Picked up some wings from my local motor factor for my Mk2 a few weeks ago and I asked him about standard Mk1 wings. He reckons one of the companies is on the verge of repressing them?? Was he spinning me a line or has anyone else heard the same. I need a pair for my mk1 but I'm not desperate (seem to be ending around £120 on ebay) Cheers
