  1. Every days a learning day and I'm old too, the mind is willing but my back is fu**ed.
  2. I'm the neshest person on the planet, l plug in my Big Red infra red heater when I'm in my unit, l started with a genny as my first unit had no power, what a pita, but the rising cost of electricity is bloody frightening, my unit did use £20.00 a week leccy, now quadrupled, bugger. Your genny should be able to power a decent size compressor, get a cheap hvlp spray gun and have a play, that's how I learnt.
  3. Great looking car, I'm a lover of a long roof, only have a Granada 2.8i Ghia X Estate, what's your plans for it?
  4. Welcome Noraxe, I'm into my Capris, got a 3.0 Ghia and a 2.8i Special, get some pics up if possible.
  5. A £4.00 felt disc that you put it an angle grinder, I then use brown soap, followed by blue soap, it should come up like a mirror, that's tomorrows job, polish both sides. Got some proper buffing cloth wheels, but they are too big, better on a bench grinder. I first was introduced to aluminium polishing at 17 when I stuffed my Honda wet dream down the road and chewed up the engine cover. I sanded it down with progressive grades of sandpaper and luckily at college the lecturer allowed me the use of there polishing equipment. What I didn't realise was that I was getting covered in polishing crap, so when I got home, my girlfriend thought I had been down the mines. The important thing was I learnt that you could with patience polish aluminium to a brilliant finish, with little cost.
  6. I do have a fetish for a bit of polished aluminium, that'll be the rocker cover re polished and both side panels, it's basically a Sierra with some odd in board front suspension. Those twin 45s run like crap, but it has been standing for 10 years, new Vitron fuel line as the old stuff had perished, drained the tank and re filled with Optimax.
  7. That's just the Ford's, I have other vehicles, I'm not completely blue blooded, I've got some German motors and even some French stuff and this thing I purchased on a whim.
  8. Thanks BaileyMex, I do need to streamline my collection, non of my son's or daughters share my passion for the blue oval
  9. Previously I rented everywhere and I thought to myself, bugger this, I came across a business unit not very far from where I live, deal done, the fact I have too much space is a disadvantage as I'm a collectomaniac, hordaholic, fordnutter all in one person, I've tried medication, but nothing seems to work at all.
  10. This is my latest, it's being a pig to get running, but basically it's a Mkl Cortina with all the running gear from a 2.8i Capri, retaining the injection system and full cross member, thanks to colr6 on here and he is on other sites that has shared his fantastic knowledge and engineering skills with me at his house, top man and what a Mkl Cortina he owns, it goes faster than shit off a shovel and thanks to its Capri front set up, handles extremely well.
  11. Starting with the one I've owned the longest, Granada 2.8i Ghia X pack Estate, Capri 3.0 Ghia Capri 2.8i Special Savage Cortina x 2 Mkl GT Cortina Mk5 Cortina Ghia 2.3 but now 2.8 Mk5 Cortina 2.0 Ghia Orion 1.6 Ghia Mkl Cortina now with 2.8i engine, Most are projects, Capri 2.8i Special is the best of the bunch as it's never been welded and doesn't need any and it's black, which takes me back to the early 80's when I had my first fast ford, a Mkl 3.0 GT XLR.
  12. Thought my user name was apt. I own too many Ford's, I have grown up with them, my influence was my father owning several Cortinas, a few Capris and then he went onto Granada's. My passion is MK2 Cortinas, but any 60s/70s/80s Ford floats my boat, I like them all.
