  1. Hey all. I've got a 1974 South African Mk1 2 door Escort and I need a specific interior part. There's a plastic cover on the top belt pillar mounting that doubles a place to hang the belt buckle when not in use. One of mine is missing, and I've no idea where to find one. I've never seen these before, but I may just not be very observant! Anyone have one, or any suggestions on who may have one or know the best place to find one please? The belts work perfectly, but if I can't find anything, I'll retrofit a set of inertia belts so they don't lay on the seat or floor. Thanks for your help!
  2. Sent you a PM
  3. Thank you mate! I agree. I think - as long as the fabric of the car is unchanged - the rest is ‘nuts n bolts’ and can be reversed. I appreciate your point of view. Thanks 👍🏼
  4. Thank you XP! Seems like a happy spot. 🙂
  5. Sounds like a great combination! 😎
  6. Thanks mate. 👍 You're not wrong! I had thought that whatever I end up with would get a blacktop and a Type 9. I've changed my mind...
  7. Thanks Gareth. I fell in love when I saw it. It took me back 20 + years...
  8. It does! I do like it, but I have a set of black Mex stripes on my desk that keep nudging me... Haha! I'm so thankful it's rust free!!
  9. Thanks! Yes, I want to tidy a few pieces of trim, but completely happy otherwise. There's only the one plate - the other is a home made plate with the HPE numbers on it. I'll message you an image of the SA VIN plate - I assume it won't end up online somewhere...
  10. Well, it's new to me! My name is Steve and I'm from Mildenhall in Suffolk. Hello! I bought a Mk1 Escort on Saturday, which is my first OSF since 2001. Its a '74 2 door in Sunburst Red imported from South Africa in 2016. The previous owner - an amazing guy called Jack - is a master coachbuilder and he restored the car over lockdown. The car is absolutely flawless (other than needing a new rear betacloth rear seat cover - which I've ordered from Aldridge) and I consider myself very lucky to be the new owner. All the OSFs I ran on the 80's and 90's were less than great, but were still a lot of fun. This one has a Harris 1700 Xflow. I'm looking forward to getting out to shows and events in '23. I will be asking daft questions, so please humour me! Thanks!
