  1. I totaly agree, but when something is offered would you not expect to receive it No no that's fair enough. I just don't get having to offer it in the first place that's all.
  2. With this whole saga, I seriously doubt anyone tries to get their car in a mag for any kind of return. People are just proud of the blood, sweat and tears which have gone into their retro ride.
  3. Well I'm in herts at the mo, but will be coming down to drop the viva off tomorrow morning/noon and then going back to herts and coming back in the evening. Erm I could nab it in the morning when I come the first time or in the late afternoon/evening. Whichever is easier for you tbh. My number is 07961 872 760 so if you could text me or something i'll call you and we could organise summat - I could pick it up or you could drop it, whatever. I was trying to get it before the meet so the car isn't coughing and spluttering but at the meet could work as well.
  4. The whole point of turrets is so you can mount coilovers in them. Then you have to four link the rear axle to locate it correctly and to take up the task the leafs previously had. That's my understanding of it anyhoo.
  5. On another note, i know this is going to be unlikely but do any of you lot who are turning up have a carb they want to flog? I am not fussy what it is tbh, as the one on the capri has gone PING, I really don't want to have to take the Focus...but. I hate people who say they can do something (like sell you a pair of Dellortos) and then let you down at the last second.
  6. Well, it's hofficial. This is going to be fapping ace!
  7. Schweet. Hope someone can bring a digi cam as mine has gone walkabouts.
  8. Not sure what to say matey - I've only got to bournemouth as of this october, so I highly doubt it.
  9. Where the '5' is there is a car park to the left of it, it's hooge, we'll meet in there.
  10. Sorry peeps, the capri died on me and i have been banned from using it till it's fixed properly. Seeing how the other capri is in bournemouth and the viva is not roadworthy i'll have to go in: Don't worry i'll park in a dark corner.
  11. Well got some warm, dry working space sorted: and subsequently got the head stripped: will have it rebuilt with the new bits by late afternoon. Was trying to get it done for tomorrow as there is an RR day i am going to but will just have to use it as a 'before' run. Excuses excuses.
  12. Oooh you cheeky skamp. I don't see dagenham dustbins with double wishbones *runs from the mob*
  13. Anyone on here in a position to gimme a hand with getting my viva move down to bournemough from herts? It's got to a rather precarious stage and I badly need to get it on the back of a trailer by monday involving a nosey jolly pain in the backside beat bobby. Because i'm desperate I'm not looking for hugely matey rates just need to get the job done and would prefer to give the money to someone on here/someone with a retro to keep going. So yeah if anyone can lend a hand otherwise I fear for the non-cubed nature of the viva. Pleasefankooverymuch.
  14. Well boshed my name down with Bogg bros in their waiting list to get the pinto manifold made up for the R1 carbs i got. The main reason is price, i get the manifold made up, I send the carbs to them they clean them out and jet them get all the nessecary hoses i need in order to bolt it on, send it back as a kit for 270 pounds. If I could get twin 45's with a manifold and ready to go for that price i would get them. Anyhoo guess i'll see what they're like about a week after crimbo.
  15. Bump for those who haven't seen. OSF freak would be cool if you can pop down to the meet whilst you are down
  16. Oh and without ford we wouldn't have any mercury sled's, which would be tragic.
  17. Fed up with stangs tbh - you can get to a point of saturation with some cars and i'm at that with stangs. I'm loving the '53 F100's and 3-window coupe's, the 37's and 39's. The galaxy is a bit bland imo, although the falcon is cool enough. Although for me the ultimate cool 'ford' for me is the 64 lincol continental Ayhoo america osf's rule.
  18. ... a back to back test between twin webers (40's perhaps to even up the contest) against bike throttle bodies on an identical pinto/x flow/any ford iron. It is genuinely something that has been nagging me for a while.
  19. Freaky. good to hear you were aware of them. This happened to me twice in one week going through brookmans park in my pretty standard focus, followed twice round the block, on pointless detours and going once round a village green by a black IS200. Apparently he didn't really know the local lanes though. As said be safe and aware out there peeps. Especially you lot with pricey/desirable mk1's. Go straight to the local nick if you can't shake em and whatever you do don't go home.
  20. Having done a bit of basic maths (alright ok someone helped me). The 2.1 @ 7000 (8k is a bit extreme isn't it?) and even using the correct 12,500 at which the power is delivered on an R1 still means that the 2.1 is consuming ~7350 litres per minute compared to the rather puny 6250 of the R1. Damnit! Still being a stubborn young male i think i'm a gonna find out if they work first hand.
  21. So come off at the junction with the novotel on your left?
  22. All I was saying is that if they can flow enough air for the power they make on R1's and the likes it stands to reason that they would cope with a fast road pinto. Zetecs run a doosey with them so I can't see why pinto's wouldn't. It would be awesome to somehow test them back to back on identical engines - perhaps something cf/rf could do in a tech feature? **Edit** typos ahoy!
  23. Think you might be a bit early if you set out now Tbh i should know stevenage fairly well - having spent/wasted a large part of my life there but tbh i have no idea where the meet is, so any pointers would be cool.
