yeah i know what you mean about the welding, it was in having the inner wings and outer wings sorted when it was nicked. The rest didnt bother me at the price thou tbh. Just hope it comes back somehow

Interesting to hear from someone who owned the car before. TBH not being to familar with the RS trim I dont know if it was retrimmed. It is / was in mint condition though. I think the single most obvious thing about the car was the twin fuel caps. How come you didnt buy it out of interest?

Its covered under their insurance, and they are a friend of the family, so not worried there. But I want my car back!

If anyone hears anything my number is 07795 436360, name is Dave. Had a phonecall today to tell me my Escort has been stolen. It was being stored whilst waiting for some bodywork to be done. The location was Bramfield near Hertford in Hertfordshire. The thieves broke into the locked unit where it was stored and then moved across the field backing onto the yard. They must have used a lowloader or something as the car had no engine and 1 or 2 flat tires. This has happened in the last 2 weeks. Please spread the word and repost this on any other forums etc, and keep an eye out for the car or any parts from it. It was full RS2000 spec bar the shell, so had the recaro interior etc. The inner wings were what it was in for, there are some holes and bad repairs there, and the bay is largly bare metal. The car also has had a twin tank conversion in the past, and still has 2 fuel caps. I know its unlikely to be recovered, but I may as well try! Absolutely gutted.

newbie question! Does the mk1 escort run a fuel return from/to the tank?

could I use a aftermarket pump in the boot then? Instead of the cossie pump? And what about a swirl pot setup?

Hello! I am looking into fitting a ST170 engine to my mk1 escort, probably on throttle bodies. I presume plenty of people have done simelar conversions, and of course zetec conversions. But what do I need to do to run injection? Presumably I need to mod the tank? I have been looking at the alloy tanks that go in the back of the boot, can you buy these ready for injection? What else would I need to be doing? Can you tell this is my first OSF project?

lol, its probably true. I reckon I will throw them on there, have sourced the new seats now, if they fit! Something a bit different from the norm to say the least!

my escort has had a twin tank conversion, with a fuel cap either side. One of the tanks has since been removed but obviously the cap remains. I am trying to get a alloy tank made up that will use both caps, but before that I have 2 other problems! Firstly I dont have the key for either lock, very annoying! Any tips on removing the caps? Secondly, the caps dont match, and i presume will be knackered anyway once removed! Any ideas on getting replacement caps? Preferably both using the same key!
