  1. Here's a couple of my 2.8i Ghia X, owned between 1992-98, was a great workhorse and tow car. Would pull the race car whilst 5-up plus all the tools, spares etc. a bit more torque would have been nice though. Once did 95 (speedo) on the continent going to Spa I think, ran straight as an arrow Did a few mods on it, Cosworth 24V front discs & Rover Vitesse 4-pot Calipers, lowered it and added an extra oil cooler on the autobox. Here it is ready to trailer an RS3100 that had been sat in a field in Norfolk for 10+ years...
  2. Not the exact size you mention but may give you an idea, I have 235/50x15 R888's on 8" rims on the front. (Rears are 245/45x16 on 9") Yours with smaller sidewall & on a 9" rim I doubt will look balloony, Toyo recommend 7.5" for your size with a max of 8.5" so they should look nicely stretched.
  3. Cheers all Plenty of caster & camber, front springs 500-1000lb, still has leafs, panhard rod, rose joints & nylon bushes throughout. Plus many hours of testing Yeah great track but very narrow especially up round the back.
  4. Falken Tyres ModProd Race, Cadwell Park 1995 My 3.0 Capri in 3rd against an ex ATCC 5.0 Holden Commodore & a 4.5 Vitesse, I did get to lead for a bit when they had a coming together
  5. Sorry Bortaf all I can see for 5831 is a Renault 18 Turbo! JP...The works Cologne RS's were Gp2, semi-works & privateer Mk2's also ran to Gp2 mostly at Spa, like this one.... Rather than converting your car to Gp2, maybe it would be best to see what championships there are runnung in your country and modifying the car to one of these, incase there is nothing for Gp2. I like the Liqui Moly Zakspeed colour scheme, great looking Capri you've got there. Ah Spa amazing place, I raced there back in '97, here's a pic of me going through Blanchimont at 150mph on the way down to the Bus Stop Chicane.... Also raced at your local Zandvoort back in '89 before they had to shorten it because a new housing estate was built right next to the track!!!!
  6. Can't see it in the list, what is the FIA number
  7. Hi FIA 5336 covers all 3.0 Capri's including any revisions like bodyshape etc. upto 1981, it runs to 71 pages, a copy can be downloaded here if you don't already have it..... http://web.archive.org/web/200503101639 ... 5300-5599/ The X-pack arches and Triples carbs were not homologated for Group 1, as the production car had 2 chokes any twin choke like the Weber IDA is allowed. See the link below for current championship regulations like Classic Group 1 etc. in the UK. Front running Classic Gp1 3.0 Capri's are currently making 305bhp. http://www.classictouringcars.com/ I've raced Capri's since 1987 so happy to help with anything your not sure about.
  8. Uploaded this practice session the other day, I count 6 or 7 Mk2's, are they still around today?
  9. Dave Brodie's 'Run Baby Run' went to Germany way back, I guess it got broken up over there? Put a Thuindersaloon race I video'd at brands in 1988 on Youtube a while back, just click the youtube link below then go to my other vids. Often used to race at the same meeting as them, always made for a great race weekend
  10. Yeah still around Dave, have you got another Capri ? Last year was a non event after doing my shoulder on holiday, the 24V is all ready to go this year and taxed as of the 1st June, should be at CoC either or both days. Going to blow the dust off the race car in the next couple of months with a view to getting out again in 2010-11, not sure yet what this will mean for the 24V.
  11. I guess everybody has different experiences, I can only tell you mine. I ran standard shafts for about 6 years in a road saloon championship where only standard rims were allowed (6x13), never had any breakages only the odd bent one Then did super road saloons & ModProds (9x16 rims) and snapped one, obviously the wider wheel/rubber puts more strain on them and I guess riding the rumple strips may have given it a shock loading that pushed it over the limit as it broke on the outside of the bearing. No problems with the Quaife ones or there ATB or gearbox internals (except when my ally bellhousing cracked knackering the input & main shaft )
  12. Broke a standard shaft whilst leading a race a Brands once, luckily the race was red flagged as the car was stranded in the middle of the track, making me the winner as it wasn't re-started Ran Quaife eversince
  13. Looking forward to the Zakspeed & race RS2600 being done in 1/18 scale for the first time, both out shortly
  14. Great collection there, much the same as mine. I do prefer them to have numbers on the doors PS: I raced the blue Capri below over your way (Spa) in 1997 My collection......
  15. A few of mine..........
