no asking to be put on the show stand well even i would laugh at that But yep all im asking is that i can still be seen as part of the osf scene and can still whack on an osf sticker love the forum,love the cars,like the people.. why leave because i drive a slightly younger car.. and not by much either Not right fussed about a sniggering out burst at a show if i turn up its expected but... some subtle mods may even cure that Thanks Vista n KJ and the other folk who commented in a similar way Rob I LOVE OSF! If the open public didnt give us the freedom and choice's that we make.. then who are we to judge? as for the OP i say "good on ya as you felt that's what you wanted!" most folk dont even think twice about how others may feel the business well.. why should a simple OP cost a business to fail(although as the article says the economoy is nackered at the minute. but still... having an OP shouldnt push customers away. an engine is just an engine! if that person knows how to do it correctly and how you want! then take the opportunity with both hands.. wouldnt you? she/he has more chance of breaking a nail than you coming out with a duff engine :lol: Rob

Well yeah! the mk1 xr2 had more plastic on the exterior than any other osf by a rule of thumb. but with the mk3 onward i agree - its more euro looking and has alot more plastic to the extrior.. but in time they will be classics. But think of it this way. if the car's and vans that were produced back in the 50's to the mid to late 90's never changed there style and feature's then there wouldnt be a such forum as oldskoolford! im sure! But in relation to the mk1 fiesta and the mk2 - there almost mechancialy the same - except the 5 speed box in the mk2 xr2. seat's.. they too were the same - same base,same back support only the foam and material changed! the mounting points to the floorpan were even the same! exterior.. yes ok things are a little more rounded eg the front wings but in a sense a capri with an x-pack kit fitted is just as curved.. so why do people fit them? im sure that if you had the mk1 fiesta inner wings and outer wings and welded them to a mk2 -then for the front valance and bonnet.. oh and the tailgate.. and headlights and bumpers and then indicator's from the outside with no reg plate fitted could you seriously tear them appart? well.. i doubt that very much as structurally the car is the same.. and i am not asking you to let every xr3 or xr3i or sierra or w/e to have a section on here. but as seen as the mk1 and mk2 fiesta are so related and were made at the same time as the capri...(yes i know so was the mk4 escort) but they dont have a place on here... but the difference being a mk4 escort had black boxes fitted and whole heap of other electrical stuff.. mk1-mk2 fiesta -wings,valance,bonnet,headlights,indicators,boot... thats all that separate's them on looks... yeah i suppose but tbh if plastic bumpers etc then that would indeed make the tickford capri a NON OSF wouldnt it? But here's my point if i was a paid up member and being a past owner of a mk1 fiesta - well... seen as i always wanted another one but now ive come to buy one and there's non around the only option left for me is the mk2. so if i was a payed up member that could only get as close as an true osf - being a mk2 fiesta . would i then be shunned? by some other members on here? Not wanting to start any arguements here just want to be able to still feel part of the osf - even though i have lost my mk1 fiesta which is recognised as a proper oldskool motor.. then i have no other option that to buy the next closest thing. Always wanted to see myself as part of the scene but when i had the mk1 i couldnt drive.. now im getting very very close to be able to drive. there's no mk1's around that i can afford... sod bloody law!! true.. true... but the fiesta originaly designed in the 70's too.. so.. and no way rst's n stuff can swivel they arent old school but are becoming classics but.. w/e

Hi fella's Well it seems that im possibly going to be the new owner of a mk2 fiesta was thinking though..... seen as im seeing them more and more in CF well... i know its not upto osf standards.. "to euro lookin,plastic bumpers"... it is based on the mk1 very closely i believe... just face lifted well... would the car look stupid if it had the osf sticker on the winscreen? and would i still be welcome to tag along to the shows?? not wanting to start any debate but... rob

im using XP Pro but the OS (operating system so long as it is windows as i (cant speak for linux or mac) Ive always used mozila firefox 3.6 and downloaded the add on - foxy proxy-less chance of hackers and IE reports back to microsoft servers based in california. and always displays your I.P address and what you've looked up at there end. better privacy and alot quicker wouldnt use anything else (me personally) hope this helps Rob
