  6. Recently got my self a Mk2 Escort RS X pack, a car I always dreamed of owning, but now it's sat in the garage in the cold light of day, i'm starting to get a bit scared of the project i've given myself, (bearing in mind my basic Mechanical skills etc)... As a last case senario I clould sell it as is, it's hard to give an exact spec, but it's as far as I know an original X Pack, the bodywork is solid, it's had some welding on the floorpan, but nothing that couldn't be tided up very easily, it has no interior save a couple of cobra bucket seats, the engine spec is again in some doubt, the previous ownere was under the impression it was a Graham Hathaway built pinto inro 170 bhp, but it's running 40's with a standard pump, and althought it's got a 'cam' it's not overly lumpy on tickover so that to me would suggest it's not that wild. Realistically what sort of price would it go for in this state? I really dunno what I intend doing at the mo, my heart says keep it ( and i'd guess thats what 90% of you lot would say) BUT I've already had to scrap one project because I got buried too deep in it, and the last thing I wanna do is the same to this car... pictures are in the rides section.
  7. There is a company called Shiney bits, based in mansfield, they do a good job... The web site is http://www.shinybits.co.uk although it dosn't look like they've updated it latley
  8. By eck... is the driver ok?
  9. My little lad last year... (4) He'll be 6 in April.
  10. If you want to go V8 power then this is the one to have!!
  11. Depending what Car it's going in... I think the Straight 8 4 ltr Turbo out of the Oz Falcon would be ubercool in a capri... 270 may not sound much, but in Oz these engines are producing power figures getting on for nearly 1000bhp
  12. El Sumo... where ya from mate? I have a mate with a body shop who loves old skool, he'd be more than happy to work on it. He's based in Shipley!!
  13. Cheers mate. but I intend doing a few track days so I'm lookin for a full cage really
  14. No worries on that score matey!! Ford to the bone me mate
  15. Best place to get one? Mk2 RS200... Best one I can find is a Rollcentre one? £420 delivered, is that a fair price? anyone suggest anywhere else I may try? or even better anyone know of any for sale?
  16. Oh god... where do I start? Well, basically, my first priority is to get the bodywork sorted, as it's had a hard life, the kit is starting to blister and there are quite a few rust patches, the good news is the shell is solid, and needs very little welding... The Engine is still running leaded, but for now i'm gonna use an Aditive as I aint decided whether I wanna keep the pinto or fit a Valver (sorry purists) , the suspension is still the original so that'll want upgrading, so depending on costs, i'll turret the rear end. 4 link it and fit a panhard kit (Cant aford a watts) then fit coilovers, I seem to remember the X pack had a antidive kit, but chances are mine wont have so that will be on the list... The interior is long gone so it already has my Buckets it, a roll cage is right at the top of the list aswell. then IF I have any sponds left, upgrade to the brakes, which in turn will meen bigger wheels not sure what tho... (loved the split rims Retro Al had on his) but chances are it'll be some minilite style wheels as thats all I can seem to find in 15 x 8. That'll keep me going this winter, then i'll start proper next winter.
  17. One of my first cars was a 1600 Harrier, always regreted selling it, and swore one day i'd get another Mk2. One of my altime favourit cars is/was the Bailey X Pack, so when this became available, there was only every gonna be one outcome... Ladies and Gents!! Supposedly sporting a 170+BHp Graham Hathaway Pinto, Lots to do over winter, so expect lots of obvious (to you lot) Questions.
