I was thinking of getting rid of my daily car since the mex has ran so well while the daily has been off the road but I'd need to sell the house to pay the twin 40 fuel bill

Since i sorted out the clutch at the end of January I've used the mk1 mex everyday in the freezing cold, pissing rain and the last few days in the sun and its not missed a beat. and its just flown through its MOT!! I'm pretty pleased that the initial problems i was having with it seem to be in the past Who needs modern cars hey?!

Highs: loads of beer! and a bloody good laugh. Top cars for as far as the eye could see Lows: Locking car keys in the boot before I'd even left, doh! And leaving at 2 on Sunday for the 7 hour drive back to south devon via some remote village in Someset. Oh and not forgetting a buggered starter motor and also a distributer fault on the way home

As long as its a 55mph convoy, any more than that and my ears start to bleed I'm a Test Engineer with the Reator Test Group on the subs, I've been there for a couple of years now, was a fitter and turner before taking this job, wish I could go back as I seem to get nothing but stressed out now! My mex had rolled rear arches already but with a 2inch drop all round they went straight on No worries Mrs Leadfoot it was bloody freezing, I'll be down earlier for the next one

Cheers, I think it looks better in the photos than in the metal to be honest, still plenty of things that need sorting but at least I can use it while i'm doing it now

Well thanks for the good comments people, the Mex passed its MOT with no advisories this morning Managed to get it taxed in the afternoon and had a trip down to Route 38 for the meet but sadly most people had left by the time I got there, never mind I'll be early for the next one. I'm grinning from ear to ear at having a road worthy osf at last

yes they are midland 7x13 wheels, i quite pleased with them. There are a few areas on the bodywork that are a bit scabby, bottoms of the doors etc which i will probably do next year after i've enjoyed driving it around for a while as I havent even driven it since the test drive when i bought it thanks for the comments

I've had the mex for 6 months now and have spent just about every evening and weekend working on it. I've booked an MOT for saturday morning so wish me luck as hopefully it will be another osf terrorising the streets As long as it doesn't fail too badly I will be putting my name down for the classicfordshow and ford fair this year

I've noticed that there always seems to be more interest in the resto projects than in a half tidy MOT'd car. We do love spending time in the garage

Think i'm going to go for some 7" RS four spokes with the black inside spoke and 175/50's. Or maybe just paint the spokes black on mine and get some new tyres
