  1. Not sure if the pictures willwork...a few months ago was at The George Tavern in Shadwell and wandered out the back of the pub and found this. Hadn't been mobile for ages. Not sure of age as the plates were missing, apart from the back one which said 'Boss'! Looked like an automatic which seemed a bit wierd. Anyway just thought i'd stick them up for all to see.
  2. mine leaked up at the top of the bulk head in the heater cowel was running down behind the centre console , had to take the whole dashboard etc out to filler it, and it leaked from around the windscreen too, sealant did the trick there all around the top as it was running down the inside.
  3. used mine as a daily drive for the last 3 years. Moved out of uni digs with it and went for my first job interview in it. It's let me down once on the way to work in two years and managed to ring round for the bit during break fixed it during lunchtime went back and taught literacy in the afternoon. Couldn't do that in a modern car. Even when i'm spluttering through a rainy december afternoon on 3 it's all forgiven every time i walk across a car park to it and it makes me smile.
  4. Don't know if it's already been mentionned but has anyone else seen the capri at the end of the T Mobile advert parked in front of a mercedes, it's metallic blue i think, mk2 possibly.
  5. got fed up with lying underneath fiat pandas, thought i might aswelll spend my time learning to fix something i love. Saw the mk2 1.3 79 ghia on the bay 3 years ago, got the final bid of 410 notes 10 notes over budget!! Soon as i saw it i knew noone else was going to own it, she's a rolling resto at the minute but makes me smile every journey.
  6. Got into work early 'to make sure i was in on time'. No one else in the staff carpark so thought i'd have a dabble. I work in the junior school and the head of the neighbouring infant school came out and was going to report me cos she thought i was a hooligan!!!She'd never seen a car approach her sideways before. I pointed out i was mearly carrying out essential health and safety checks on the car park.
  7. Novas are good for one thing.... nope, it's slipped my mind.
  8. Richard Hammond has to be one of the bravest blokes on the planet. Living legend.
  9. Officially the best drive to work ever, sideways is more fun by far, didn't bother clearing the windscreen, just cleared the driver and passenger windows and used whichever one was pointing in the right direction at the time
  10. Had this through an email: "The government's proposal to introduce road pricing will mean you having to purchase a tracking device for your car and paying a monthly bill to use it. The tracking device will cost about £200 and in a recent study by the BBC, the lowest monthly bill was £28 for a rural florist and £194 for a delivery driver. A non working Mum who used her car to take the kids to school paid £86 in one month. On top of this massive increase in tax you will be tracked. Somebody will know where you are at all times. They will also know how fast you have been going, so even if you accidentally creep over a speed limit in time you can expect a Notice of Intended Prosecution with your monthly bill. If you care about our freedom and stopping the constant bashing of the car driver, please sign the petition on No 10's new website (link below) and pass this on to as many people as possible." http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/traveltax Whatever happened to free motoring where 'big brother' isn't watching the whole time, and there's no way i'm sticking a 200 note box in the beast for the privilege.
  11. Evening all, this is my first post as an oldskoolford 'poster' after two years of driving around in the dark wondering where all the blue oval owners loiter down here in the south, and here we are. Brilliant! Anyway, was just wondering if anyone has a passenger side rear light cluster for a mk2 esc. ghia, i decided it would be a great start to the new year by belting a hole in the middle of mine whilst trying to 'adjust' a dodgy connection. ahem. if you have could you drop me an email on beuy@hotmail.com that's be excellent. Right well happy new year everyone, it's a pleasure to be on board. rich ps> Bobmk1, many thanks for stopping (about a month ago) just outside of ashthead. It turned out it was the points, there wasnt a gap so things were a bit lumpy, but thanks again for making sure all was well.
