Hi Took the plunge and got the 15" wheels and tyres from Midland wheels and also got some coil overs for the front. Only problem i had is the drivers arch had been replaced in the past and the lip was a lot bigger than the other side and rubbed at every bump, have now grinded it back a few mm and alls perfect. Drives much better on country roads, no more grounding and also cruises comfortably at motorway speeds, nicer for the longer journeys

Had the exhaust done can't go any higher. I live in alittle village and struggle to get out of it. the exhaust at the front hits the floor at the slightest camber. and because the roads are so bad its always hitting something. I like the look of the way it is but i can't drive the car so my thoughts were to raise it slidghtly by using bigger wheels at least then i can keep the same sort of look. whereas if i raise the car any other way it won't look right sitting on the 13" wheels.

Anyone got any advice.

Hi I was thinking of getting the same wheel tyre combo for my MK2 but in the black minilites does anyone know if they will fit the MK2 okay with out any mods. i have currently got 7X13's RS wheels with 175x50x13 yokohama tyres. I have attached a picture to show how low the car is at the moment, its way to low at the moment i struggle to go anywhere especially with the condition of the roads near me. Any advice appreciated had a play with photoshop.

Didn't actually ask, but they implied it would cost more so I said i was joining a club as soon as the insurance was active, that was 2 months ago, but seeing as the father inlaw wants to pay thought i better get signed up somewhere, although i think he's getting off light at £12 a year i thought club membership would be more. Do i get an OSF windscreen strip as part of the membership at the moment the car has a sporting escort strip on it. Talking about windscreen strips does anyone know where you can get your own made I want one with my website on it to put on the back window free advertising enough people look at the car and take photo's so might aswell advertise my site.

Hi My father inlaw wants to buy me membership to a owners club as a christmas present and having never been a member of any clubs before haven't a clue about them so am just looking for suggestions anf/or your opinions on which one to join. Hi where it says falbe/colour it has 79 and whre it says trim it has H5

Thanks all working again however it kept blowing the fuse everytime the fan cut in so kept increasing the size until i got to 25 amp and then all seems fine. The diagram is excellent i think i will add an overide switch and dashboard light.

Trying to find my colour code but noone seems to recognise mine as a proper colour code. on the vin plate is the following BATR BBATWC12345 engine L3 colour 79 trim H5 can any one tell me what this stands for

Thanks for all the help. I have printed all the instructions out and am off down the garage now to see if the theory works. Going to install a new fuse holder and fuse first don't want to melt anything else

thanks i will have a look at it in the morning. do you have any idea what fuse should be used, because the inline fuse didn`t blow when i miswired it always been scared of electrics

I looked at the relay when i was down the garage and it had some numbers and symbols on it but i haven't a clue what they mean

20 years since i did any of this so haven't a clue anymore lets see if i understand this correctly wire 1 from the stat to 1 on the relay the live feed to 2 & 3 of the relay the fan then going to 4 on the relay don't really understand relays so is one opposite pair a swith(say 1&2) and the other opposite pair a solenoid(say 3&4) in that case i would need to work out which pair is the switch and witch is the solenoid. My apologies if i have completley misunderstood this.

Hi Hope somone can help. Took my radiator out to have it recored unpluged the electric fan a week later i get the rad back but can't remember how to wire it up already melted an inline fuse holder so i am doing somthing wrong. I have attached a drawing of all the wires would much appreciate if some one could explain which one goes where. Then tomorrow after i have nipped to halfords for a new fuse holder i will have another go. What size fuse should i use, the surely the old one should have blown not melted its holder Thanks

Hi Paul, the car is ace, just not sure of the engine spec and seeing as its only done 1000 miles wanted to make sure i wasn't doing it any damage.

Yes it is the one in my sig. Only got it last week. A mechanic friend said not to worry about it but then i started reading horror stories on the web.

hi, i only have the previous owners word on this but judging by the standard of the rest of the work I don't doubt some work has been done to the engine. It supposidly has been bored to a 1680cc with different cam and twin 40's

Hi I have just bought a 1600 sport which had the engine rebuilt 1000 miles ago and i have noticed that a little blue smoke comes out of the oil filler cap and also the filter on the oil catch tank. A couple of people have told me this is normal and not to woory about it and that its probably not fully bedded in yetbut then i read on the internet that the engine is knackered can anyone shed some more light on this. Also i was going to cheque the cylinder compression can someone tell me what it should be roughly. Haven't had or worked on an OSF for about 20 years so am learning as i go
