  1. yeah they have different hubs-i got some group1 capri struts but they are off of a 3.0, had to fit 3.0 hubs but the steering arms and calipers all mount up okay
  2. ok-one of the problems was a nos coil i fitted-put the old one back on and seems happier but still not 100%. I'm gonna try and have another look today-have checked the floats/needles but all looks fine-could it be ignition? sayin that once its cut out if i leave it a minute or so it'll start again and do it all over again-flooding no? I'm gonna take it somewhere local for them to look at the carbs but need to get it running well enough to get there! Thanks for the help so far but any more ideas???

  5. nice thought-if only i had the money, besides the car only goes for about 1/4 of a mile at a time!lol take me about a week to get to one!lol
  6. ok so is up and running now but it has a problem. When i drive its fine up to about 3rd gear at 2500rpm then it just bogs down and eventually comes to a gradual halt and cuts out, if i leave it for a minute or so i can start it fine and it does it again! I know the engine temp is ok cos its got leccy fans fitted and temp on guage is fine. I cleaned the points up but as far as i know they are gapped ok, it has new leads fitted. All gaskets and seals replaced on carbs and new inlet manifold gasket fitted too. The pump is fitted below the batt tray and is at 45 degree angle-pressure is set at 3.5psi-could the fuel pressure be knocking out timing??? It all ran before, not great but it ran. Cant think what the problem is (and before someone asks-it has fuel in! ) Any ideas????????
  7. ok so checked it-adjusted it again and its ok now Only thing is its still running like a bag of shit-getting pissed off wiv it now. just wanna drive it

  10. Hi-have had dellorto 40s on my 2.1 pinto for a while now but recently decided to fit a facet pump and whilst I was there I gave the carbs a service (gaskets etc). So I put them back on today, fitted correctly when to run them up so I can set them up/balance them and as its running its pissing fuel out of the rear carb , Ive dropped the fuel pressure right down as i thought this may be the cause but didnt make any difference. Anyone have any ideas what it could be? I'm running out of ideas to be honest so any help would be great!
  11. yeah-i fitted it all up and it only fouled the steering joint-fitted great otherwise do you know if i can change the steering joint for a smaller one???

Hi guys-I have the capri booked into sanspeed on friday but before it goes i have a 3-piece large bore manifold to fit (pinto), the trouble is it needs a bit of cutting and shutting to fit (it fouls on steering coupling). So does anyone know if there is anyone near me that can help out?? Would like to fit it cos i think its gonna make a big difference to the power figures also AFR. any help is greatly appreciated.

  17. so thursday i thought i would change my head on the cappa for my new stage 3 one -didnt start till 3 though because i was waiting for a delivery! removed carbs, rad and exhaust manifold,painted rocker cover, dropped off head to get skimmed and set up:evil: friday managed to take off old head,decoked pistons, dropped oil changed filter, cleaned block picked up new head and refitted,plugs fitted, elec fan ftted, carbs, move oil cooler, fitted rocker cover. saturday fitted new manifold, then took it off again cos it fouls on steering coupling , refitted old one, fitted leads, coolant lines, timed up, oiled up etc. Was supposed to be on rollers today but the guys at the garage i went to wanted to go home at 4 but at least the cars running now and is ok, could do with the cam and ignition tweeking to make perfect but i'll be going to the Classic Ford show after all!! Was touch and go on more than a few occasions!
  18. is there a slipper in the 2.8i??if so I'll have the rear beam I need: a clean rad panel (one in front of rad on top) rear trim in boot lid that covers wiper motor 2.0 clocks and surround panel on dash if in good nick

  21. i think he meant 'as new', it is all spring mounted-gotta bebetter than the 4 branch I have fitted!
