Mk2stu has given me a very good quote for my cage and he's taking delivery of the car on the 9th of april, i'll be posting up some pics of before and after so you can all have a butcher's im confident that it'll be a superb job as he's a top bloke.

I walked to school past this car twice a day for 11 years and i couldn't take my eyes off it, and now my little boy walks past it to go to school, its a legendary car and everyone Knows of it, so a resounding yes get it out mate!!!

its for a mk4 astra and the only cages available are off the shelf polished alloy ones that i think are proper crap, or omp cages that take months to be delivered from what i hear from people, what i want is a welded in cage that has removable door bars, a harness bar, and for it to be tied into the top of the a+b posts wiv gussets, and hopefully not have to remortgage my house to get it by the way ive seen some of your work at shows and its really impressive stuff!!

just wondering if anyone could recommend a rollcage fabricator in the london area that i could take my car to and have a cage made to my own spec? i dont really want a safety devices or anything off the shelf cos thats what everyone else has got, and i like to be different any help would be appreciated and might even warrant a free mars bar

thanks fella's, im thinking 1700 x-flow with twin 40's, 7x13 superlights, keep the vinyl roof, 2.8 legs, slam it 3'', low back buckets, ashley manifold and system, fit a 4 speed rocket box then give it a general tidy up for the summer then maybe next winter a respray and the xe thats in my shed might find its way in there, maybe. also is it worth changing to the escort steering system over the original cortina's? oh yeah and its the series 2

yesterday i went to look at a mk2 cortina 1600e, that an old boy my dad knows has had in his garage for 7-8 yrs, now i didnt know how much he wanted for the car, or anything really about its condition, but i thought i'll just go and have a look anyway. and boy am i glad i did its totally standard has a black interior, black vinyl roof, rostyles (4 flat tyres), and its gold, all the panels are straight and from what i can see theres minimal rust as the cars been garaged all its life, and theres 60 thousand on the clock. Apart from some of the trim and roof that look slightly faded theres some laquer on the boot and bonnet thats peeling. now for the good bit, the bloke said that i can have it for free!! and that it can stay in his garage untill ive finished my current car!!! so with the v5 in my hand i went home a very happy boy. all ive got to do now is decide what im going to do with it cos, i dont do standard. any ideas fella's??
